When asked their favorite part of studying abroad, our Austrian students replied: their host families, walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, learning and playing Baseball, hot dogs and hamburgers, shopping, Fisherman’s Wharf, their tour leader, and one student said everything! They were excited to get home, but sad to leave. Read More
The school group from Mendenhall has been enjoying their first days in Costa Rica. There is a lot more to explore, but they have already seen much of this beautiful, bio-diverse country. They have visited the amazing Nauyaca Waterfalls and explored the rainforest on horseback. What an inspiring place to travel! Read More
Wednesday and Thursday were busy again for our Austrian study abroad students. They rode Cable Cars, walked down Lombard St, enjoyed lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, and took the ferry to Alcatraz. The students enjoyed seeing this historical site and listening to the audio tour. Thursday the students enjoyed the lovely weather with a baseball game. Read More
Highlights from Tuesday included an early morning stop at The Ferry Building, a hike up to Coit Tower, shopping and lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf, and being a part of a live TV show. Marya shares an update from Friday, when the Austrian students in her group had an opportunity to visit San Francisco City Hall, Union Square, and Chinatown. Despite rainy weather, the students got to see the headquarters of local government, sample the tasty local food trucks, enjoy some shopping, and experienced America’s oldest Chinatown. Read More
Chaperone Marya describes a busy Thursday bus tour of San Francisco with half of our visiting Austrian study abroad students. They saw the 49′ers and Giants’ stadiums, took photos by the Pacific Ocean, ate lunch in the Haight/Ashbury neighborhood, and visited the Golden Gate Bridge. Rainy days didn’t spoil the group’s great mood or enthusiasm. Read More
Chaperones Marya Kahan & Lena Gammer are excited to show our students an amazing time in the Bay Area. The Austrian group will be living with volunteer host families, improving their English abilities, and seeing what American life is like first-hand. They began with a Scavenger Hunt in Palo Alto and a tour of Stanford University, and are spending their first day in San Francisco today. Read More
