The ECI students had a great time visiting local classrooms at Nuevo Millenio in Costa Rica. They got to tour the campus, sit in on both English and Spanish classes, and made friends with the local students. Exploring Costa Rica’s Cloud Forest

The Natural Wonders group enjoyed an exciting weekend in Monteverde, where they visited the Cloud Forest. The group enjoyed a hike across the hanging bridges despite the rain. They visited a beautiful butterfly garden and took a 10K horseback by Lake Arenal. They finished the day with relaxing in the local hot springs. Read More

Two great weeks in Salamanca!

The Salamanca 2 group has completed their two weeks of language classes, and will soon travel on to meet their immersion host family. Students also completed a cooking class to learn how to prepare traditional dishes. They also enjoyed a scavenger hunt in Salmanaca’s famouse Plaza Mayor, in their best “running of the bulls” costumes! Read More

Getting to know Costa Rica better

The group is getting to know the local food and customs of their new friends in Costa Rica. They participated in a cooking class and learned how to make an authentic local meal. The group enjoyed a family game night. They also visited a local women’s cooperative that helps local women lift themselves out of poverty. This weekend the group visits the beautiful Cloud Forest! The Natural Wonders group learned about the history behind Costa Rica’s colorfully painted coffee carts in a visit to the town of Sarchi. The students painted their own miniature version of a coffee cart wheel. They played a fun game of indoor soccer, and enjoyed other group activities at a local sports center. Read More
